5 Fatal EDDM Copywriting Mistakes That Kill Response Rates (And How to Fix Them)

    Copywriting for the Mailbox

Postcard copy must be punchy, clear, and direct. Here are the 5 biggest mistakes business owners make when drafting their postcard content:

    1. Making the Business Logo the Biggest Thing: Recipients don't care about your logo until they know what you can do for them. Make the *headline* the hero!
    2. Too Much Text: Dense paragraphs overwhelm the reader. Use bullet points and bold highlights.
    3. Weak or Vague Offers: "Quality Service Since 1998" is not an offer. "$50 Off Your First Repair" is an offer.
    4. Forgetting a Clear Call to Action: Explicitly tell the reader what to do next: "Call 531-534-3775 or Scan QR Code to Claim."
    5. No Expiration Date: Urgency drives response. Add an expiration date to encourage immediate action.
